Excellent second CD for this band ! And visiting its site I notice they’ve already prepared the following work, "Terra Mentis". Hope it can see the light soon because I’m eager to hear more from these Slovaks !

Essence Of Existence plays dark, eclectic, majestic extreme metal, with rich orchestrations based on keys, aggressive guitars, deep male growls or screams, female chants, drawing inspiration from different sources and musical languages, from gothic metal to melodic death to sympho black metal. Some references : magick atmospheric death metal band Depresy or gothic death actThalarion, or some French sympho black acts such as Seth or Maleficentia.

Handling a lot of ingredients this way can always be risky, because it’s rather easy to commit the error of overloading one’s style and creating an amorphous, chaotic patchwork, but this is not the case of EoE, which is on tre contrary able to elaborate all these diverse elements with class and good taste, obtaining a really concrete, coherent form of art.

This album, despite of its fortyfive minutes length, runs very well and captures the listener’s attention from its very first moments until the end, thanx to catchy solutions and a wide variety, from fast rhythms to enchanting, atmospheric paths to scary passages underlined by lugubrious piano notes. Always showing really outstanding compositive abilities and a formally perfect elegance.

This CD, enriched by a crystal clear production, could appeal a large audience and it’s strongly recommended to any of you in search of powerful, melodic, fresh and attractive music. So, if you’re into gothic, melodic black / death or symphonic heavy metal you might give a chance to this band !!

BeaoWolf prod. - Treats from the underground!

Essence Of Existence play some very aggressive styled Death Metal music.
They toss in lots of Black Metal elements, by mixing up all the heavy brutality &
atmospheric parts. They have good blend of rawness & technicalness as well. The
vocals are done in a really harsh low Black Metal/Death metal scream with some
occassional angelic female vocals tossed in. This is a must for any fan of all forms of
Black Metal!!! eviewsApr04.html

/reviewEssenceOfExistennce.html
